Mission Statement

We strive to breed quality Vizslas with proven lineages that excel in the field and in the home. Our dogs can change lives by providing companionship, purpose, and joy to their owners

Peterson Vizslas is family run by Joel and Bonnie Peterson. Joel is a retired detective for The Milwaukee Police Department. In his free time Joel guides other dogs. Bonnie is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Wisconsin Parkside.

Joel’s first encounter with the breed was in the 1970’s when his parents owned a Vizsla named Jill. He knew that one day he would like to have one. His dream came true in 1999 when Dixie joined the family. Dixie was not the “ideal” starting dog. She was abused as a puppy and was scared of strangers; especially men. She had no experience with birds and was terrified of guns. With time and patience she has transformed into the most amazing dog. She is great in the field and if possible even better in the house. Something was still missing in the home, which is when Lili came in 2004. There are not enough great things to say about her. She is dynamite In the field, great with people, and cuddly in the house. Lili had her first litter January 3, 2007. The litter consisted of five females and four males. It was impossible to not keep one pup, which is how the family acquired Pink. Her name fits her personality she is mischievous but loving.
